Marin Community Clinics: Leveling the playing field for health and wellness in Marin County
SYNOPSIS OF TALK:  Overview of Marin Community Clinics including our history, the services we offer, the population we serve and some unique ways we are achieving our mission in Novato and Marin County
Elizabeth Shaw MD is a family physician and the Novato Site Medical Director at Marin Community Clinics, where she has practiced since 2012.  In addition she serves as the Medical Lead for Quality Improvement for the organization.  She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from UC Santa Barbara and her MD from UC San Diego. She then completed her residency training at the UCLA Ventura County Family Medicine Residency Program.  She is a North Bay native, originally from Calistoga, CA and has lived and worked in Novato for the past 7 years.

Bringing Cohousing to Marin

We answer the question 'What is cohousing?' and show why cohousing is a good fit for Marin. We will share the development of our project at 970 C Street in Hamilton, Novato. Judy Slater has been an ordained Presbyterian minister for over 30 years working primarily with College students and now coaches pastors, seminarians and others to find their passion in life. She an advocate for affordable housing since moving to Marin and couldn't figure out why she couldn't find housing. She is the Co-Founder with John Caye who is a Program Manager for a large healthcare organization with an education in architecture and construction management. John lived with his family in cohousing for 3 years on the East Coast and has been diligent in searching for land for a project in Marin. They found each other by divine coincidence and having been working together since June of 2015.

Novato Student Scholarships Presentation

July 26 the Novato Rotary Club meeting will recognize and award all scholarships checks to 27 students from Novato, San Marin NOVA and Marin Oaks seniors. Invited to that meeting are parents of the award winners plus those who have donated scholarships. 

Rotarians will be able to meet and congratulate these future leaders.
